Boats in Avalon
“Boats in Avalon” is based on a photo I took from the pier of the Avalon harbor on Catalina
Island, Southern California. My family has vacationed there for generations, and I have lots of
wonderful memories of summers there with my family. The island used to be the home of a
well known tile factory, and the town of Avalon is covered with wonderful tile work on all the
streets, parks and buildings. The border of the quilt is a tribute to all the beautiful tile in Avalon.
